Heaven help us

We're gonna have an official teenager in our midst very, very soon. GAH!! Oh, sure we've been getting the tween attitude for a while now but my Honey bunny is officially turning teen in less than 3 days. You know what scares me about this whole situation, beyond the typical teenagery stuff, she has internet access! She knows the name of my blog! At any point in time she can type in the url, be whizzed away, and read EVERY LAST THING I've written about her, her sister, myself, and at times, her father on this VERY BLOG!! Not to mention the random posts about whathaveyou, that until this point in time I've never worried about her reading.

NOW! Now, I am most assuredly freaking out. Probably there is no reason to have a conniption fit before the fact. I just tend to do that sort of thing, you understand.

But I digress, my baby is becoming a teenager. The HELL. My BABY is becoming a teenager. Hold on a sec while I process that thought… Ok, I'm back.

The two of us have been party planning for awhile now. It's a delicate balance between kids party and non-kids party. She decided to invite some boys this year. Oooooohh! I know. Boys!! The husband & I are figuring that we'll be kept on our toes by this gathering since it's at our house. She wondered out-loud to me, what if there's an awkward moment or we don't know what to say. So we've been detailing what to do for the whole time to try to minimize any weirdness. I hope for her sake that this party is fun for her & her friends.

I'm so proud of her and all she's accomplished in her life to-date. I'm sure I'll be even more proud of her in the years to come. Probably we won't always get along in these up-coming years but it'll no doubt be interesting!

Happy 13th birthday to my Honey bunny!!

Tell me Thursday – 35th Edition

Lookie here. It’s Thursday. So, you have the option to read about my Wordless Wednesday photo from yesterday. What do you think? Interested in hearing the deets? Well, either way I still get to write all about the pic.

I took this picture nearly two summers ago. Obviously, or not so obviously, during the traditional Disneyland Electrical parade. I’m surprised & thrilled that it came out so well. Clearly I’m not a professional photographer so anytime I can get pictures to look this good I’m excited. It’s Cinderelly! Cinderella!

This particular trip to Disneyland was the first time we took Pumpkin & the 2nd time we took Honey bunny. My mom and her husband came with us and some of our friends that live in the LA area met us for a couple days of fun. It was hot as is expected in the summertime in LA. Didn’t matter to the gremlins they loved every minute. Plus we usually try to stay at the Grand Californian Hotel cuz it ROCKS and they have killer swimming pools which we always take advantage of in the afternoons to cool down before heading back into the parks for nighttime fun.

We’re hoping to go back this summer however that is still all up in the air what with Honey bunny possibly testing for her black belt & the husband’s plans to have a 39 1/2 birthday bash in Las Vegas for us.

Thanks for listening (or reading if you must be technical),

Tell Me Thursday – 34th Edition

Well howdy there folks! Since you’re sitting there reading and all, then why don’t you take a gander at my Wordless Wednesday photo from yesterday. That is to say, if you didn’t happen to see it on Wednesday.

Can that be snow in that photo? Why yes, it is snow, as a matter of fact. I KNOW! Can you believe it? Perhaps it isn’t that difficult to believe if you live in place where snow is normal in winter but where we live, it almost NEVER snows. As you can see from the picture however… it had snowed! If you read my RTT post from Tuesday, then you know a little bit about what was going on with the weather.

I took this photo looking through our sliding glass door (can you see the glare/reflection?). It was such a shock to see the snow all over the front yard as well as the deck ~ of which clearly this is a picture. It didn’t last long, it melted nearly right away since it just doesn’t stay cold enough to sustain the snow. But I was happy with just this little bit. Such a fun change from the norm. And again, I’ll say that I’m glad it didn’t last long as most of us here have NO idea how to drive in snow conditions. On top of that, I don’t like being that cold.

Thanks for listening, (or reading if you must be technical),

Tell Me Thursday – 33rd Edition

tmt125x125

Do I need to explain what Tell Me Thursday is all about? Or have you figured it out by now? Oh, what the heck… TMT is an opportunity for me to tell you all about the Wordless Wednesday photo I posted yesterday. So, that being said, let me move right into telling you about my Wordless Wednesday photo from yesterday. Heh. This picture was taken by me… it is a picture of a darling piece of artwork that my Honey bunny made nearly 4 years ago. MAN time flies! Amazes me that so many years have gone by already. I have this artwork hanging on the wall of my office directly above my phone so I get to enjoy looking at it everyday.

So what do you think of this picture/artwork? Pretty cool? I think so. Very abstract! Love the colors, shapes, and variety of sizes. And I love how some of the pieces are sort of floating off into space.

Tell Me Thursday – 32nd Edition

Are you wondering about the artwork that is my Wordless Wednesday photo from yesterday? Well then, you’re in luck! I just happen to have all the facts on the matter right here stored away in the trusty noggin. Bwahahahaha. Sorry. I just had to laugh because anymore if it isn’t written down in my calendar, then it doesn’t exist. That’s just the life of a mom with two children, two dogs, two business, a house, and a husband, I suppose.

So anyway, a couple of weeks ago we took the office staff & spouses to Las Vegas for our annual holiday party. We’ve been going for roughly the last 6 yrs. Each of the years we stayed at a different hotel but on this particular occasion we stayed at Treasure Island (and technically this is the 2nd time we’ve stayed there). Well this artwork was hanging on the wall near the elevators at our floor.

I really liked the look of it which is why I took the photo to share with you lovely people. Generally I’m not much for abstract art but in this case it really appealed to me. Sadly, I don’t know who the artist is that created this wonderful piece. You know, it may have had the artist signature on it but I never took the time to look.

What do you think? Did you like it?

Tell Me Thursday – 31st Edition

tmt125x125

I’m so glad it’s Thursday! That means it’s almost Friday and that means it’s almost time for our Las Vegas trip!!! Can you tell I’m just a little bit excited about this fact? We’re going on our annual company trip. It is always a blast! But in the meantime we haven’t left yet so… let me share the deets with you about my Wordless Wednesday photo that was actually posted on Thursday. Has your head exploded yet with all the days I’m spouting off about in this ridiculously lame post? Heh.

Right. Down to the facts. So you may recall I have an iPhone. And you may recall that I love the Shake it App. I’ve mentioned it a time or two. Well, I was messing around with it and taking pictures of whatever randomness I could find and that just so happened to be my laptop. Or rather… a portion of my laptop. You obviously figured out I have a Dell. At least, I hope for the love of Pete that you figured it out.

Now, I’m not a photographer, not by any stretch of the imagination could you think that I was, but I kinda like the way this photo turned out. What do you think? Interesting?

Tell Me Thursday – 30th Edition

tmt125x125

Welcome one, welcome all to this edition of TMT. I wasn’t sure I’d be able to get this done since I was gone a goodly portion of the day with Honey Bunny on a school field trip. I volunteered to drive some of the kids to/from the place and thankfully I survived carting the five 4th graders. But that’s not the only reason I thought I might not finish this post in time… it’s also because I have so much work to do at the office that takes precedence. That being said, I’m not shirking my work duties, I’m sitting at Pumpkin’s karate class taking advantage of the free wifi to get this post done. Yay free wifi!
So, without further ado, I’ll get on with the TMT. My Wordless Wednesday photo from yesterday was photographed by me while on our trip to Chicago/South Bend. Do you like Picasso? This is a Picasso statue that is located in Chicago which the husband learned about while searching things to see and do in Chicago. I’m not a huge Picasso fan though I do really like this statue. The day was chilly & rainy so I think that affected the coloring a bit. Is it obvious how tall this is? Take a look in the background at the person that is waking by, also see the pigeons that are bobbing around in the foreground, and just count the number of stories on the building behind the statue. That should clue you in. This thing is enormous. What is it? I have no feckin’ idea. Maybe a turkey of sorts? What do you think? Any clue?
